Veikkaus CEO Olli Sarekoski: "We are back on a growth trajectory – driven by international markets and iGaming"

The year has started positively, and we are pleased to share some great news with you: Veikkaus is back on the path of growth. During the first quarter, our revenue grew by 2.5 percent, which demonstrates the sustainability of our strategy and our ability to adapt to market changes. Our subsidiary Fennica Gaming's international business grew by a record 380 percent in the first half of the year, with growth focused on the sales of our game studio to international customers (87%) and our own businesses following the business transfer in April 2025. These figures are very encouraging, but maintaining them requires continuous development, especially in a challenging economic situation and amid increasing competition domestically and internationally.

Growth comes especially from international markets and the iGaming business, which we have been emphasizing in our strategy for a long time. Traditional lottery games, such as lotteries, have also continued their stable development and are contributing significantly to the overall result. A turnaround was seen last autumn. Investments in the B2C licensing business have now started to produce concrete results, and the first quarter further confirmed that our new strategy is working and will take us on a sustainable and moderate growth path – just as we have been aiming for.

Alongside these segments, we are investing in the responsible gaming ecosystem, which is an essential part of Veikkaus' business and social mission. Our responsible gaming ecosystem is working, and it has been a key part of our success. We will continue to invest in ensuring that gaming remains safe and responsible. It is great to see that this long-term work is bearing fruit. Now we can push forward with growth and continue to develop without compromising our values.
