South Africa's National Lottery is in a period of transition as the operating licence changes hands from the incumbent Ithuba to the new operator, Sizekhaya. The handover marks the end of Ithuba's 11-year tenure, after commencing operations in 2015. Ithuba were initially awarded an eight-year license that came to an end in 2023, which was extended on an annual basis. SABC News Economics Reporter Nosipho Radebe has the details.
