BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho Lottery’s annual $1 Million Raffle is back for its 20th year, once again offering two guaranteed $1 million top prizes.
Ticket sales began Wednesday morning, Oct. 21, at 4 a.m. Mountain Time. Only 500,000 tickets will be sold statewide at $10 each, and sales will end once the final ticket is purchased.
The raffle has produced 21 millionaires over its first 19 years.
This year's prize pool includes two $1 million prizes, one $100,000 prize, one $50,000 prize and more than 21,500 additional prizes. Last year's raffle sold out Dec. 11, two weeks before Christmas.
To mark the game's 20th anniversary, the Lottery is also adding more chances to win before the main drawing. One $1,000 winner will be selected each day during the first 20 days of ticket sales from tickets purchased the previous day.
Every 25,000th ticket sold will also win $1,000, including ticket numbers 025000, 050000 and continuing through 500000. Those tickets will remain eligible for additional raffle prizes, including the two $1 million top prizes.
Anyone who wins one of the special $1,000 prizes must claim it at the Idaho Lottery offices in Boise. The winning numbers will be announced Dec. 29 at 12:20 p.m. Mountain Time.
