DC Lottery’s “Scratcher Symphony” Scores Double Platinum Awards for Excellence in Advertising
WASHINGTON, DC—The DC Lottery has been recognized with two Platinum-tier honors for its Scratcher Symphony commercial, including the 2025 MUSE Creative Awards’ Platinum Winner in the category of Single Advertising Ad—Online and the 2026 AVA Digital Awards’
Platinum Winner in the category of Commercial and Promotional Video. Both contests received international submissions and were judged by industry-leading professionals on the merits of creativity, content, innovation, and impact.
Filmed locally in DC and produced by Taoti Creative, the DC Lottery’s advertising agency of record, “Scratcher Symphony” debuted on television and online broadcast channels in the spring of 2025 to promote the launch of the first $50 instant ticket in the nation’s capital, Extreme 500X Fortune.
This groundbreaking game introduced record-setting winning opportunities, including a $2,000,000 payout, the largest prize amount for a scratcher game in the history of the DC Lottery.
“Scratcher Symphony” takes place in La Coop Coffee, a family-operated coffee shop and café located in the Petworth neighborhood. The commercial’s vibe is decidedly DC—inviting and communal, drawing inspiration from the scratcher experience with distinct rhythms reminiscent of Go-Go, the official sound of Washington, DC.

DC Lottery was the sole lottery to be bestowed the MUSE Platinum Award this year, with reviewers praising the winning submission, “This campaign transforms the distinct rhythm of scratching into a dynamic creative concept, turning sound into storytelling.
Through an immersive café activation, the experience amplified anticipation and brought the excitement of the new $50 Scratcher to life in a fresh, interactive way.”
