DC Lottery Celebrates 50 Years of Go-Go with New Community Partnership
WASHINGTON, DC—The DC Lottery recently announced its Premier-level partnership with the Go-Go Museum & Cafe (the Museum) at the Museum’s first-anniversary celebration and press conference hosted by comedian Lonnie Bee. Located in Historic Anacostia, the Museum is the official site for the appreciation and study of Go-Go music, history, and culture.
“Celebrating 50 years of Go-Go is a celebration of DC itself,” said DC Lottery Executive Director Randy Burnside. “We’re honored to stand alongside the Go-Go Museum in uplifting a sound and a culture born right here in our city. This partnership reflects our shared belief in the power of art, community, and local history—and, investing in the people and traditions that make Washington, DC unique,” Burnside continued.
The year-long community partnership supports the Museum’s ongoing educational programming and community engagement initiatives. Throughout the year, the DC Lottery will have a brand presence at the Museum and will partner on promotional opportunities to include the Go-Go Bus events and event tickets that will be awarded to DC Lottery Players’ Club members.
“We’re deeply grateful for the DC Lottery’s partnership and support in uplifting the community, honoring the genre’s pioneers, and ensuring that Go-Go, the sound of DC, continues to thrive and evolve in the District and beyond,” said Ronald Moten, the Museum’s founder and CEO. “This is about building community, and we are thankful to our neighbors and partners at DC Lottery.”
